Are Country Kiln stoves wood burners or multi fuel stoves?

They are both.

The multi fuel grate is included free of charge in each stove. Coal likes airflow from underneath so when burning coal you burn on the grate. If you are burning mainly wood, wood will burn too quickly with air coming from the underneath so you will keep the stoves bottom vents mainly closed unless there is poor chimney draw whilst lighting your stove.

A good tip is to remember with stoves you are aiming for warmth and glow and not flame. Coals which were developed for open fires have some special ingredient or are from coal faces which provide coal with flame, I`m not sure which it is from memory however, the main point here is that coal for open fires have been developed to provide flame. This also makes the coal for open fires more expensive. With a stove you are aiming for glow so you can purchase cheaper coal, sea coal, coal for powerstations and keep the heating cost down further. Cheap coal can be mixed with more expensive coal, mixed with coal for open fires or mixed with wood, again to create a cost effective warm glow. High flame can cause accidental overfiring.
